U14 Feile
Féile Peile na nÓg is a national festival of football for boys and girls
under 14 years of age. Each year approximately 30,000 boys and girls from
each of the 32 counties, and some teams from the UK, Europe and USA,
participate in Féile. A preliminary competition is held in each county for
the right to represent the county at the Féile finals. The winning club
from each of these counties then travels to a host county where they stay
with one of the clubs in that county. The 2012 Finals are being jointly
hosted by Co. Laois and Co. Offaly. That means that Graiguecullen have the
privilege of being a host club. Over the weekend of 22nd, 23rd and
24thJune this year we will have an U14 boys team and an U14 girls team
come to stay with us and take part in the football competition along
with our sons
and daughters. Féile Peil na nÓg places great emphasis and importance on
proper participation, presentation, punctuality and sportsmanship. Féile
involves the whole community, clubs, schools, social and cultural groups,
families, civic and religious authorities. It is recognised by the GAA as
a major festival of great importance for the promotion of football among
the youth of our country. Féile Peil na nÓg helps to bond communities,
forge friendships, provide educational opportunities and unearth new
leaders.

As part of the Feile celebrations a parade will be held in Portlaoise on
the evening of Friday 22nd June. We are looking for 6 volunteers to act as
stewards on the night. If you are interested please contact Michael Regan
on 086 8187109. Please note : All stewards will need to be Garda vetted.

Bar and Social Committee is looking for ideas?
The chairman of the bar and social committee Dave Cowan would like to thank
all those who have already submitted ideas for events and continues to
welcome any new ones that people may have.
To date there are three upcoming events lined up
(1) MR. & MRS ON fEBRUARY THE 11TH
(2)LADIES ONLY NIGHT ON FEBRUARY 25TH
(3) The thorny rose on March 24th
While we will continue to organise social night and hopefully see them
grow into regular events in order for this to happen the event nights will
need your support. The bar & social committee would like to welcome new
members and so if you are interested in joining and coming aboard please
contact club secretary Eugene Mullholland.

Trying to think what to do for Valentines? Well why not try something a little bit different! Graiguecullen GAA are proud to announce our very first Mr and Mrs competition which will be held in the clubhouse on Saturday 11th February.

Thorny Rose!
Unfortunately we had very few entries for the Graiguecullen Rose of Tralee competition this year so we have decided to hold a Thorny Rose instead! If you think you have what it takes and are man enough to enter please call Mary on 087 9769113! Entries close on 18th February and we hold the night on 24th March in the club house.
